SIGA Manager Lands Chairman Role for National Focus Group

November 12, 2015 - Published by

UK Commercial Manager for SIGA, Steve Pearson, has been elected as Chairman of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors’ (NFRC) national Focus Group for Natural Slate.

The NFRC has a multitude of different Focus Groups which concentrate on various sectors of the roofing contractor industry. One of the latest key outcomes of an NFRC focus group was the introduction of graded roofing batten; a decision which has impacted and benefitted the quality of the roofing industry greatly.

The NFRC’s Natural Slate Focus Group consists of 7 representatives from Europe’s leading producers and distributors of slate and meets 3-4 times a year to communicate best practice in the industry and dissect arising issues to agree on resolutions. The purpose of the group is to holistically analyse the market, tackle any issues in the category, drive up standards, as well as advise NFRC members of slate procurement and standards of practice.

Steve Pearson commented on his appointment: “I’m proud and grateful to have been elected as chairman of this Focus Group. I personally share SIGA’s desire to continually strive for improvement of industry standards and in the time I have been a part of the group, it has addressed key governance topics and taken strides to making improvements. I’m very much looking forward to getting underway as Chairman and help create an industry that benefits all involved.”

The first meeting Steve will Chair takes place at The NFRC Headquarters in London in 2016.
